Om Mani Yoga, Inc. is focused on providing education and awareness of the body and mind connection through the practice of Yoga. With roots in Integral Hatha Yoga and a combination of Vinyasa Yoga, students experience the benefits of increased body awareness and stress reduction.
The Sanskrit word "Yoga" means union. This union refers to the uniting of the body and the mind, the senses, and the environment. Yoga has also been defined as the "art of conscious living." One of the most important benefits of yoga is an increased sense of awareness; thus allowing us to be fully present in the body.
Yoga combines the physical postures, or asanas; the breath, or pranayama; and yoga nidra, or deep relaxation, to create a peaceful, easeful condition in the body.
Yoga sessions are ongoing. Each session is an hour and fifteen minutes. The session consists of an hour of yoga asanas, followed by a guided deep relaxation (yoga nidra), and then finishes with pranayama and karuna metta.
